Each year, the 475-member Association conducts three community-wide signature fund-raising events to support the Association’s good works, a long list of which dates back to 1889. Proceeds from the Attic Sale, Golf Open, Classic Clothing Sale, and the Holidays Galore & More Sale all go toward that fiscal year’s outreach focus. In 2023-24, the focus was to provide support for families with school-age children to address housing insecurity.

Fund recipients for 2023-24 are as follows:

  • Briarpatch Youth Services Connection Advocacy Program – $25,000
  • Goodman Community Center Emergency Housing Assistance Project – $5,000
  • Habitat for Humanity Home Ownership Program – $17,596
  • RISE Wisconsin Housing Assistance Fund – $25,000
  • Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center Emergency Assistance Fund – $8,000
  • United Way of Dane County Reducing School Mobility Program – $20,000
  • WayForward Resources (formerly Middleton Outreach Ministry) Housing Stabilization Program – $20,000

Attic Angel Association began in 1889, when two sisters earned the nickname “attic angels” by descending from their attic with armloads of goods to share with children less fortunate. Today, nearly 500 members join their ranks to serve both children and seniors throughout Dane County, including those living in Attic Angel Community.
