Support Our Extra Needs For COVID-19

Amenities

Attic Angel Community in Middleton WI and Madison WI bus with vehicle wrap and elderly people getting off

Learning and doing are big priorities in Attic Angel Community, and our facilities and programs/services provide ample opportunity for both. Among them:

Facilities

Art Studio is well-equipped with a kiln for firing ceramics and glass, looms for weaving textiles and many other resources for pursuing individual projects or group classwork.

Wellness Center hosts an array of classes for exercise, balance, movement and relaxation. Fitness Center offers a variety of exercise equipment to meet individual needs, including a NuStep, treadmill, recumbent bike and elliptical trainer.

Libraries within Attic Angel Place include a permanent collection, a rotation of books from the Madison Public Library system and daily newspapers and various periodicals. Outside the facility, several Free Little Libraries offer friendly ways to share good reads in our Prairie Point neighborhood and just outside Attic Angel Place.

Computer areas feature a computer with high-speed internet and a copy machine for resident use. WiFi is available throughout the building.

Our Café offers a cheerful, casual place to eat out without going out.

Programs and Services

Continuing education programs feature nationally renowned University of Wisconsin scholars and other experts. These programs attract members of the public and foster new social connections.

Spa services include on-site massage therapy and salon services, including manicures.

Licensed health care practitioners for podiatry, audiology, dental, dermatology and ophthalmology make on-site visits – almost like house calls!

Scheduled outings on the Attic Angel shuttle bus include frequent trips to grocery stores, pharmacies and community events.

Additional transportation is offered by Attic Angel volunteers, based on availability, for medical appointments and individual errands.

Resident councils, forums and associations meet regularly and gather suggestions, ideas and comments to improve our services.

Dining Services

We have special diet accommodations, themed meals and picnics, catering for private dining, and favorite family recipes for our residents to feel right at home.

The Playing Field

The Playing Field Poster

Children affected by trauma such as homelessness and those with special needs such as autism spectrum disorders have different sensory needs for emotional support that helps them learn to manage behaviors. Our dream is to create a play space that allows children to be successful while ... being kids! Some of our plans:

  • A large open space for running (crowded spaces are often a behavior trigger for children)
  • High fencing and an appropriate climbing structure (children impacted by trauma or those on the autism spectrum often take bigger risks and climb higher)
  • Sensory panels that welcome independent play when children are agitated
  • A maze for children to walk through (this helps the brain to organize)
  • Small structures where children can feel safe
  • Specially designed pieces to work large muscle groups

By helping children at this critical point in their development, your gift will be helping the future of our community!
